This curved hardwood deck has glass railings, a pergola, and privacy screens. Most builders shy from trying to do this style of deck due to the difficulty associated with working in hardwood. This curved deck actually features inlays and solid rim joists that were laminated from solid red cedar. We love working in wood when we get the chance and durability is a match for most composite and PVC decks today. When paired with powder-coated aluminum railings, it is truly easy to maintain. A quick power wash and a fresh coat of oil a couple of times a year.

Curved Decks are Self Bracing

If a curved deck is designed well, there is no need for lateral bracing–the curve is the brace!  You can get a very different clean look on decks by adding curves to the design.

Hardwood, like composite, is a bigger investment– so let’s do it right the first time.
